Last weekend I bought this pattern from Lil Blue Boo. I've liked her clothes for awhile but was a little intimidated, I've never bought a pattern or sewn something this complicated. The pattern is great, lots of different choices and I'll be able to use it for years to make dresses for Beri. Sewing with knits? I love it, I love that they make such soft comfy clothes and I love how the stretch in the fabric made it easier to match up the pattern. The pattern also showed me how to do ruffles on the bottom... I'm intimidated by any new sewing technique but it was easy peasy. I could have ruffled all Beri's onesies last summer!
Here's my first attempt.
It turned out too short to be a dress but how cute does it look with baby jeans?
For the second I made it a bit longer...
... I like it, but it's missing something.... What do you think?
Maybe I need to learn how to make a ruffled fabric flower???
Not until today did I realize how freakin' difficult it is to take a good picture of a baby in an outift... especially one who just learned to crawl around. I had to chase her all over the bed to get just a few ok shots. Speaking of which, have you seen this?
