Wow Loo, you're almost two and a half. Here's a quick look at your 29th month:
- You've divided the world into things that are good and bad. You are constantly telling us, "that's a good one" or "that's not a good one" or you ask "mommy, is that a good one?"
- You've outsmarted us on the whole parenting technique of choices. For months we've been offering you choices: Strawberries, banana or yogurt? The other day you said, "Strawberries and banana and yogurt. One and two and three!"
- Sometimes you "count" with the alphabet. You'll name things in a row, A, B, C, D...
- You've graduated from the potty to Frank, your turtle toilet seat in the bathroom, which is a pretty big deal because it has really reduced my workload.
- You don't know the difference between tomatoes and potatoes, the other day I spent five minutes explaining it and letting you hold and touch each one, and two seconds later you had them mixed up again.
- You can recite almost all your books and have now moved on to acting them out.
- The mild weather has gotten us back to our daily walks. You love watching birds and tonight you thought the geese where saying hi to you as they flew by. You hold Beri's hand and wave to all the neighbours and cars that pass and they smile and wave back.
- You really enjoy Beri's company and if I'm holding her back (cause she's a crazy maniac of a daredevil) you ask if she can play too.
- Last week we had company so you slept in bed with us for the first time ever. It wasn't as calm and dreamy as I always thought it would be. Not even close.
- You're very concerned about emotions. Tonight when your dad was late from work I was holding Beri and you looked at me from across the room "Mom, are you not happy?" I'm amazed how empathetic you are and that someone so young can understand emotions so well.
- When you're sad and crying you'll suddenly look up at us with tears running down your face and say "I'm happy now" and start playing again.
- You make me laugh daily, make that hourly. Everything you say or do is funny to me. I love it. I have to carry a book around with me all the time to try to capture everything you say and I always find myself on a walk or in the car trying to memorize your latest comments.
this is one of my very favorite things about kids::

I too am like this as a 39 year old woman. & some of my friends think that it's weird of me to behave this way, that I am not truly in touch with my feelings. when the reality is that I just get over stuff quickly. It never somes back & bites me in the ass later... so it's all good!
Loo, I was happy to learn a little more about you. you sound like you are a funny little dude w/ a heart of gold.
Hopefully Loo will always recover from his upsets so quickly, it works for me :)
