Goals revisited....

I'm feeling a bit back-to-school-y lately and ready to set some new goals. While I'm working on my list I thought it would be neat to go back to my Lofty Goals post back in March... How did I do?

  • Include something hand made with every gift our family gives this year. I'd say we currently average about 80%.  We've done pretty well.... 95%?

  • Not buy any "new" clothes for myself,  Loo or Beri. (Thrifting and sewing it is!) I bought a new dress and sweater... and new pants for back to work, everything else has been thrifted or sewn.

  • To eat better, more on that another day. That's surprisingly going really well, I even lost 10 lbs. I much prefer real food now and there's a lot more veggies and fruits in the house and a lot of cooking from scratch.

  • Get over my fears and learn to sew a zipper and some button holes. I tried a zipper, I didn't like it. I'm trying again this month with the LTTSA.

  • Make myself at least one piece of clothing. Made 3 for spring top week. I only wear the cardigan though.

  • Learn how to do some elastic shirring to make some cute summer dresses for Beri. Hmph. I tried it didn't work well though.

  • Save up for a serger?? Check! Well kind of, it was a gift!

  • Learn to take better pictures and stop relying on the Auto function. Check again. I'm comfortable out of auto. My pictures are better but there's so much more to learn.

  • Learn to can fruits and vegetables.  I made jam....does that count?

  • Start a vegetable garden this spring, mostly from seeds.  I started a garden...

  • Learn how to cut Loo's hair. I've got the clippers almost mastered but I need to learn to scissor cut.  Ha ha ha ha ha!

  • Continue finding and replacing our cleaners and personal products with more natural ones. Do you ever look up products on Good Guide or Skin DeepI've done pretty well with this, aside from advising Mr. Crafty Ave to put baby oil on Loo's eczema which resulted in an allergic reaction.

  • Make that trip to Nova Scotia we talk about every year.  YES!!!

  1. dude! look at you go! I think it's so important to have goals. it means you never have time to be bored. but then again, when do you have time for something like that when you have two littles running about? do you even remember boredom?
