I used Heidi & Finn's urban hoodie pattern, altered the neckline and put buttons down the whole thing to make it more coat like.
The pattern is supposed to be made of stretchy fabric so to accommodate for this synthetic wool-like grey material I upped the pattern to a size 3T which was almost perfect. She usually wears 12 month clothing.
I bought the material a few weeks ago with some pink and grey flannel to be the lining. I changed my mind mid cutting and went with this orange cotton print. It screams fall to me.
I want to learn how to do facings.....
That's all for today, until 9pm when I can sew a bit more. Now it's time to head to town for a better late than never Thanksgiving* dinner and some epipens. More on the epipens another day.
*Hmmm, just noticed it may not mention anywhere on this blog that we're Canadian... Now you know.
Wow I love it! So cosy and pretty. Great idea to alter that pattern, and my gosh you are getting lots of sewing done. Congrats too on making the KCWC roundup TWO days already!
ReplyDeleteCan you make this in my size? I'm not kidding!! ;)
ReplyDeletefor real, you are a superstar over on EM! So I finally just bought this pattern, but I don't know if it will get made this week. But you have got me thinking... if I made the 12 month size in a non-stretchy fabric do you think it would fit my 6mo?
ReplyDeleteLooooooooooooooove that pattern. I mean for real. so versatile!
ReplyDeletegonna try this pattern! Dario needs a coat as cute as yours! thank for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThese colors are just delicious, and I love the hood and buttons too!
